About the Role
We are looking for highly motivated Production Manager to work in our high paced Wheels and Brakes Workshop, supporting our Commercial and Defence customers. The purpose of this role is to act as the Operations Manager’s Second in Charge and provide operational leadership for the program, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of maintenance and production activities.
Your duties include:
Leadership & Team Development
Perform the role of the Operations Manager and site leader when the Operations Manager is not on site as the Operations Managers Second in Charge (2IC).
Responsible for leadership and management of production/maintenance activities under their direct control
Create an effective operational environment that fosters cross utilisation of skills across multiple program and product lines.
Coaching to staff, advisors and other stakeholders to create a high performing culture.
Responsible for monthly reports, performance reporting and analysis as required.
Procurement & Inventory
Directly responsible for the execution of the inventory and procurement activities, including Leadership and supervision of the day-to-day procurement and inventory management, assists the Operations Manager in maintaining workshop records, manuals and computer-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
Customer Relationship Support
Support the development of good business and customer solutions through understanding the customer’s business and factors impacting on it, open communication and the necessary operational activities for implementation.
Culture, Values & Engagement Initiatives
Demonstrate leadership of TAE’s Values in Safety, People and Performance, championing and managing related initiatives with workplace team leaders to further enhance professionalism, engaged and positive behaviours in the division.
Desired Skills and Experience
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Minimum five years in a management/leadership role within a maintenance environment. Desirable in wheels, brakes, suspension or vehicle servicing environment.
Broad knowledge of and experience in management practices involved with heavily regulated working environments/industries.
Demonstrated financial management experience in a senior role with an engineering, maintenance or manufacturing enterprise.
Ability to lead, communicate, organise and administer teams of multi-skilled personnel.
Exceptional organisational, planning and change management skills.
Broad knowledge of and experience in logistics and material management practices.
Knowledge and practical experience in computer software programs, which may include Microsoft Office suite, internet applications, database management and ERP systems.
