Job Description
Your new role
The Quality Systems Engineer – Projects & New Process Introduction (NPI) serves as the key interface between Project Engineering, Propulsion Engineering, and Quality. The role ensures all new and existing processes, products, and projects meet regulatory, customer, and internal quality requirements. It embeds quality early in the lifecycle, ensuring compliance with DASR, AS9110, ISO 9001, and all relevant customer, calibration, and maintenance standards, and acts as the primary NPI focal point across TAE Aerospace.
Role Overview & Key Responsibilities
1. Project & Engineering Interface
Act as the key quality representative across Project & Propulsion Engineering
Ensure quality requirements are defined, implemented, and met across projects
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and project milestones
Provide guidance on quality, certification, and regulatory requirements
2. Compliance & Regulatory Assurance
Ensure compliance with DASR, AS9110, and ISO 9001
Interpret regulatory and customer requirements into practical controls
Support internal, external, and customer audits
Drive closure of audit findings and non-conformances
3. New Process Introduction (NPI)
Lead quality input across all NPI activities
Define process qualification, validation, and production readiness
Support FAI / FPE, PFMEA, and control plans
Ensure compliance with customer and accreditation requirements (e.g. Nadcap)
4. Quality Planning & Assurance
Develop and implement project quality plans
Define inspection, testing, and verification requirements
Review and approve technical documentation (work instructions, inspection plans, specs)
5. Calibration & Maintenance
Ensure calibration and maintenance compliance.
Support systems ensuring equipment is calibrated, traceable, and fit for purpose.
Work with maintenance teams to ensure equipment readiness.
6. Continuous Improvement & Risk
Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions (RCCA).
Identify and mitigate risks to quality, delivery, and compliance.
Promote a right-first-time quality culture.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications And Experience
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or related discipline).
Experience in Aerospace MRO or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of AS9110 and/or AS9100, ISO 9001 and Regulatory frameworks (e.g., DASR, CASA, EASA, FAA).
Experience with New Process Introduction (NPI), First Article Inspection (AS9102)/ First Process Evaluation and Root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Desirable
Knowledge of Nadcap requirements.
Experience with gas turbine engine maintenance and repair processes.
Certification in quality methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lead Auditor).
Familiarity with calibration systems and metrology.
