The Machine Shop Technician performs allocated maintenance services as a member of the Machine Shop Team. Directly responsible for the execution of the work allocated by their team leader.

 

Job Description

Role Overview & Key Responsibilities

  • Hand finish aircraft parts
  • Machining both manual and CNC
  • Painting
  • Pressure Testing 
  • Analytical Inspection 
  • Balancing
  • Perform allocated maintenance services as a member of the Machine Shop Team
  • Directly responsible for the execution of the work allocated by team leader
  • Demonstrate responsibility and accountability by adhering to aviation industry and TAE requirements.
  • Identify areas for improvement in efficiency and effectiveness to reduce the cost base across machine shop operations
  • Assist in ensuring compliance obligations are met in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure all maintenance on aeronautical product is carried out in accordance with authorized publications and instructions
  • Assist in the development of a professional, commercially focused and world class repair team
  • Ensure all tasks performed comply with all required work standards including quality, durability, reliability, and timeliness
  • Maintain work areas clean and acceptable standard
  • Participate as a team member in continuous improvement projects and activities

 

 

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 1 year trade experience in relevant field
  • General maintenance skills
  • General knowledge of and experience in all aviation maintenance practices involved with maintenance, repair, and overhaul
  • Mechanical knowledge with hands on experience and understanding of measuring and calibrated tooling use
  • Experience working with both manual and automated tools and equipment
  • Understand and apply workings from simple technical drawings and manuals
  • Proven ability to work to outcomes while ensuring highest quality and safety
  • Flexible to learning new skills, with the ability to retain and apply new information
  • Demonstrated experience in Informational Technology packages such as Microsoft Office and ERP systems
  • Proven commitment to customer service and safety
