About the Role
We are looking for highly motivated NC Programmer/Operator who will be responsible for generating CNC programs, assisting in job setup, program prove out, and assisting in the manufacturing of complex components and assemblies. This includes opportunities to work on development, prototyping programs, with personal development in machining strategies.
Your duties include:
- Understand process plan including all customer supplied information, both written and digital
- Able to read, edit, and optimize CNC programs for machining efficiency
- Responsible for taking product from start to finish including machining, forming, and assembly
- Design fixtures and tooling for machining centers and assembly
- Produce documentation for machine operators to set-up and machine quality parts both safely and efficiently
- Contribute to continuous improvement techniques to improve output, quality, cost and delivery.
- Set up and operate machine(s), as needed, safely and competently in accordance with Marand’s standards, ensuring that good safety and housekeeping are in order.
- Work to the standards in place and internal work instructions.
- Ensure all components produced meet specifications using appropriate measuring equipment such as micrometers, Vernier, gauges, and Bore Gauges.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Machine Tool Technology Diploma or equivalent work experience programming 3, 4, 5 axis machining centers, and multi-tasking machines.
- Experience in applying the correct machining strategies for aluminum, stainless, titanium, etc.
- Proficient in using Mastercam for both solid modelling and programming.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong problem solving.
- Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain focused and “take it up a notch” when working under pressure or to tight deadlines.
- Physically fit to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
