Experienced CNC Machinist Ready for Your Next Career Move?
Use your machining expertise in a new way.
Are you an experienced CNC Machinist with strong 5-Axis machining experience, but ready to take the next step in your career?
Perhaps you're looking to move away from the machine and into a role where you can use your technical knowledge, industry experience and understanding of manufacturing to influence projects on a broader scale.
This could be the opportunity you've been waiting for. At Marand Precision Engineering, we're looking for an experienced CNC Machinist who is ready to transition their career into a Subcontract Coordinator role.
You may not have previous experience in subcontract coordination or procurement. That's okay.
What you will bring is something that cannot simply be taught — genuine hands-on experience in CNC machining and a strong understanding of what it takes to manufacture complex, high-precision components.
Your experience working with 3 and 5-Axis CNC machining centres, interpreting engineering drawings, understanding manufacturing processes and recognising quality requirements will provide you with a strong technical foundation for this next step.
With training and support, you'll develop the coordination, supplier management and commercial skills required to manage subcontracted manufacturing activities across complex engineering and manufacturing projects.
Why This Could Be Your Next Career Move
✔ Move beyond the machine and take the next step in your career.
✔ Use your hands-on machining experience in a broader coordination role.
✔ Develop your career in subcontract management, supplier coordination and procurement.
✔ Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Procurement and Project teams.
✔ Build relationships with suppliers and subcontractors across a range of manufacturing activities.
✔ Join a leading Australian precision engineering company working across defence, aerospace and advanced manufacturing.

Your understanding of CNC machining and manufacturing processes will allow you to communicate effectively with suppliers, understand technical requirements, identify potential issues and ensure outsourced work is delivered to the required quality, specification and timeframe.
You will be supported and trained to develop your knowledge across subcontract coordination, supplier management, procurement and commercial administration.
Desired Skills and Experience
Your responsibilities will include:
Coordinating suppliers and subcontractors to support the successful delivery of manufacturing and engineering projects.
Working with internal teams to understand technical requirements, project priorities and delivery expectations.
Reviewing technical documentation, engineering drawings and quality requirements.

Coordinating purchase orders, scopes of work, subcontract documentation and related administration.
Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, Procurement and Project teams.
Monitoring quality, compliance and delivery requirements.
Identifying and helping resolve supplier, delivery and technical issues.
Maintaining accurate subcontract records and supporting continuous improvement activities.
